This subject applies to at least the NBG5715_1.00(AAAG.1)C0 firmware...Sorry i have to post in English, i hope that is ok... 
I have found many problems with this router: UPNP: The upnp is not working proberbly in NBG-5715...
- this issue is not new to Zyxel at all, i have had other Zyxel routers that also had this kind of fault...
But it is sad to see that Zyxel still not are paying attention to this...
Eg. the game "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2", have NAT problems that is linked to the UPNP not working proberbly...
When using the Zyxel router the status in the game is "STRICT", and the result is that my son is not able to play private games...
If i use a different brand router and enable UPNP, the problem is gone (BY DEFAULT)...
But if i put his computer in DMZ (called "Default Server Setup" in this router), the problems is also gone on the NBG-5715...
- that should just not be necessary WHEN the router is equipped with UPNP...
And these kind of problems have i seen before on Zyxel Routers, i just thought that Zyxel would have learned it by now...
Get the UPNP problems solved...SSID: If you enable more than one SSID on each network (You can enable 4 on each), the router slow down so mutch that it is actually useless
Eigther remove those alternative SSID´s, or make them all work proberbly...DHCP: There is only 8 places in the Static DHCP Table, i have to use at least 15
Let us be able to add those we actually need instead...(Just like in the Firewall rules page)NAT: There is portforwarding, but NO port re-directing in the NAT
Get port re-directing to work, that would solve a lot of problems with this router...Dynamic DNS: The router do not work proberly with
http://www.DynDns.org, dyndns.org BAN you becource the router is sending IP-updates even tohoug nothing is changed (and that couses BAN with dyndns.org)
An option to use "your own" Dyndns would be nice... (Just let us be able to write the address to the service for our self.)
Also an option to see when and if the DynDns is updated correct. (Just like in the tomato firmware, and many others) Upnp: Zitat:

I dont know how other vendors solve this, but UPNP works on other brands, without people having to think about these things. Maybe this have to do with the router not having port re-directing
Becorece when i am able to port re-direct, i can have all my HTTP servers and my router on port 80 inside my own network, and still connect to them from outsite the www on different ports...
Get port re-directing to work...USB: When you connect a USB drive (memory or harddrive) to the router, you can ONLY get in touch with it if you enable the drive with a little software util called "
ZyXEL NetUSB Share Center" and you have to do this EVERY time you start your computer... This is actually
crap (sorry)... And the usb-drive is also not avalible for your servers in your network this way...
Why do ZYXEL not just port a version of the smbd-server (SAMBA) and perhaps also port the vsftpd-server (FTP), as those allready exist for other ports of OpenWRT, and the sources is also released.Telnet: As the router is actually running
OpenWRT, you CAN connect to it with Telnet or SSH, BUT if you change ANYTHING the router acts up, and don´t work proberbly anymore...
So as it is right now, it is actually useless...
The address for packages is also incorrect... (Proberbly becource this is not a full port of OpenWRT)
(I have used OpenWRT, DD-WRT, and Tomato on routers for years, so have a little knowledge about it, but i have never had problems like theese)
Eigther remove the Telnet/SSH option or make it work proberbly like in other OpenWRT routers...Firewall: The ONLY rules you can make in the Firewall is "DROP"-rules and that is useless, we also need to be able to "ALLOW" cirtain things
Let us be able to edit rules as in a real OpenWRT router, let us decide the rules for our self, or at least make an option to ALLOW rules... Network MAP: In EASY mode, the Netæork MAP, is only showing your own computer...
Make the Network MAP show all computers, or remove this...Login: The login ALLWAYS go to "EASY Mode" first...
Make an option/switch so the router go direct to Expert Mode at login...INFO:This Zyxel NBG-5715 router is using an OLD version 6.01 port of OpenWrt, with a re-written LUCI interface on top.
Why Zyxel did not port a new version of OpenWRT is strange to me.
Dear Zyxel:Start to look into this, and start porting a new OpenWRT, a OpenWRT that actually will work ??
Your OpenWRT router say it is based on V6.0.1, and current OpenWRT is arround version 10.0.0 ! (A lot has happned since v6)
The hardware is great, and WILL be able to run allmost everything you can think off, the only BIG problem is with the old firmware that you have ported i think. (And the lack of supported Packages)
ZYXEL start by porting a version of the smbd-server and perhaps also port the vsftpd-server, so we can run at least that on our NBG-5715 routers.Perhaps you should think about go and help out the OpenWRT community, give them ALL the info they need, and perhaps donate them a couple more routers... (I know Zyxel have allready donated a router)
You have the hardware in NBG-5715 that could be a really great thing, just use it, help OpenWRT to make this the best router avalible...
Zyxel, get in gear and make us a Router that actually works
